Mukherjee Engineering Company (MEC), hume pipe manufacturer since 1952 and Bengal Spun Pipe Industries (BSPI), hume pipe manufacturer since 1958 have come together to set up a state of the art vertical dry cast hume pipe manufacturing unit in Palashdanga, Baidyapur, Burdwan.

MEC has its manufacturing unit located in Bolpur, Dist: Birbhum, West Bengal and the manufacturing unit of BSPI is located in Baidyapur, Dist: Burdwan, West Bengal. In their respective manufacturing unit they follow the horizontal method of manufacturing of hume pipes.

The promoters bring with them a gamut of experience in the field of manufacturing of hume pipes. MEC and BSPI are known vendors to big names and projects e.g. L&T Construction Limited, Simplex Infrastructure Limited, Ramky Infrastructure Limited, Civtect (I) Pvt. Ltd., IVRCL, Ganon Dunkerley & Co. Ltd., KMC, KMDA, PWD (Roads), GAP Projects, ADB Projects etc.

With the advent of time, the promoters of both the organizations have felt the need of getting into manufacturing of vertical dry casted hume pipes. They both joined hands together to form BILGE SOLUTIONS, a vertical dry cast hume pipe manufacturing unit in district of Burdwan. In this unit the promoters have planned to manufacture RCC Hume Pipes of class SS varying from sizes of 600 mm diameter to 2400mm diameter. The machineries installed are from Apollo Hawkeye Pedershaab who are a reputed name globally and number one in India for crafting state of the art machineries required for vertical dry cast machineries. The moulds and pallets are also from them which definitely guarantee superior quality.

The uniqueness of this production unit lies in its production methodology of vertical dry cast manufacturing, which is first of its kind in eastern India. The vertical dry cast method of production leads to manufacturing of RCC Hume Pipes of more strength and durability. Another advantage of the process is, the production capacity increases to almost 3-4 times vis-à-vis horizontal manufacturing process giving a wider perspective towards reaching more customers. Not only hume pipes but the unit will also be manufacturing pre cast box culvert, pre cast box drain, pre cast manhole chamber and all these at a capacity of at least 15 times more than the usual method of manufacturing followed in the industry.
